WORD OF POWER ON SUNDAY: THE NEW WAY OF CHRIST

TEXT: And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, speak; for thy servant heareth. 1 sam 3:10
*‘In life you can not be doing the same thing the same way and expecting different results’. This implies that things need to be done in a new and unique ways in order to achieve better and desired results.
*From the text above, God didn’t communicate His mind to young Samuel until he responded to His call of God in a new and a unique way as directed by his mentor Eli - 1 Sam.3:5-8.
*Our God moves in mysterious ways such that none could predict Him. His ways are just and true; they are right and are new every morning - Hosea 14:9; Lam. 3:22-23.
*Doing things in new ways through Christ is one way we Christians can make positive impacts in the world by the power of the Holy Spirit - Joh. 17:16.
*Before the coming of Christ, men had searched for the way by which they could be reconciled to God. Perhaps, this was one of the reasons for the proliferation of religion and diver means of reaching to God today - Jer.3:23.
*This quest for the true way was granted by God through Christ, who’s the new and the true way to the Father - Joh. 14:6. This was achieved by the giving up of Himself as the Lamb for our sacrifice - Heb.10:19-22.
*Beloved, the way of Christ is the only and true way to God because: a. God Himself sent His Son to deal with the problem of sin b. Only by the sacrifice of His Son did God demonstrate both His love and His justice and c. Rejecting the gospel of Christ is rejecting both the Father and His Son - 2 John 1:9
*God expects us to faithfully respond to His call to us in Christ and make His will to be known in the world through our witness of Him - Isa. 43:10; Lk 24:46-48.
*This new way of Christ can only be understood in the light of the word of God which according to the Psalmist is perfect, sure, right, and pure. Psa. 19:7-8. No wonder Jesus in Luke 24:44-45 opened the understanding of His disciples to the WORD.
NEW WAY IS FOR NEW PEOPLE IN CHRIST: BE NEW TODAY!

PRAYER POINT
My father and my God, I desire to do your will in 2018, open my eyes to see from your word clearly so that I will not disappoint you in Jesus name. Amen
