Text: Jeremiah 18:1-6b
Behold, as the Clay is in the Potter's hand, so are ye in my hand O house if Israel.

Every human being is a pot made with Clay by the Potter (God).

This topic centers on three major element which include;

Clay

Clay is a stiff, sticky fine-grained earth that can be moulded when wet, and is dried and baked to make bricks, pottery, and ceramics.
It combines one or more clay minerals with possible traces of quartz, metal oxides and organic matter.

Pot

Pot is usually a rounded metal or earthen container used chiefly for domestic purposes (as in cooking or for holding liquids or growing plants). Its also any of various technical or industrial vessels or enclosures resembling or likened to a household pot.

Potter

A potter, or pottery maker, is a craft artist who uses their artistic talents to create pots, dishes, mugs, vases, and other types of artwork.
Pottery is the process of forming vessels and other objects with clay and other ceramic materials, which are fired to give them a hard, durable form

All these three elements are but the most important of the three is the Potter, he works on the clay to make a desired pot.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE THREE

1. Clay is used to make pot by the Potter
2. Clay does not struggle with the Potter and cannot dictate for the Potter on how is should be made or shaped
3. Clay cannot work on itself
4. Clay is only useful when it is made into a pot.

In the same way, we can only be useful when we are made by God.
For He made man in His own image from the dust, as pot is made from clay we are made for a specific purpose (1Corr 12: 1-9, Eph 4:7-12).
The Potter uses clay to make different shapes of pots as it pleases him.
Therefore, don't compare yourself to anyone for you are specially & wonderfully made for a specific assignment.
No matter how good a clay may be it cannot shape itself.
The Potter never get tired of working on the pot till he brings out his desired shape even when marred over and over (Jer 18:4).

So always be prepared to work in alignments with God master plan for your life as He who modes us knows us,  He can re-mode us even when we are marred (palms 103:14).
