WORD OF POWER ON 51ST SUNDAY: THE COMING REDEEMER

THEME:- THE COMING REDEEMER

TEXT: ‘therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign, Behold; the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Emmanuel. Isa7:14

*The word ‘coming’ is the act of expectation for an arrival, while the word ‘Redeemer’ means the one who frees or delivers from difficulty,
danger or bondage, usually by the payment of a ransom price.
*Through the long centuries of ‘trouble and darkness or dimness of anguish’ - Isa.8:22 marking the history of mankind from the day our first parents lost their Eden home, to the time the Son of God appeared as the Saviour of sinners, the hope of the fallen race was centered on the coming of a Redeemer to free usfrom bondage of sin and grave.
*The first hint of such hope as given to Adam and Eve in the sentence pronounced on the Serpent in Eden when the Lord declared to Satan, ‘I will put enmity between thee and the seed of the woman’ - Gen 3:15.
*As the guilty pair listened to these words, they were inspired with hope; for in the prophecy concerning the breaking of Satan’s power they discerned a promise of deliverance from the ruin wrought through their transgression.
*According to the text above, Isaiah prophesied concerning the birth of the Messiah the kinsman Redeemer of Israel and the Redeemer of the whole world. Isa. 7:10-17. John the Baptist introduces the fulfillment of this prophecy when he told the people to prepare the ways of the Lord for his visitation - John 1:26

*Jesus Christ being eternal had to take up human flesh and blood in order for him to be qualified to perform the role of a kinsman Redeemer. Because, our salvation needed the shedding of blood, which no animals’ blood could do. Jesus is our coming Redeemer who alone can save and  redeem us from eternal condemnation.
*While we wait for the blessed hope the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, we are saved by grace. None of our religious or righteous work can merit or qualified our salvation from the standard of God’s righteousness and holiness.
Jesus Christ alone has the ability to redeem us.

*He is coming to execute judgment on all human races. The saints shall rejoice at his coming. Those that set themselves aside from the entanglement of this world shall be redeem from the sufferings of this world and they shall be with the Lord.
*Jesus Christ is coming back to ransom His people to Himself and to His Father in the heaven. As a Church, we are to prepare ourselves for this His Coming.

PRAYER POINT
My father and my God, I receive the grace to finish well in this 2017. I reject the burden of carry-over in Jesus name. Amen

PROPHETIC DECLARATION 
Since the Lord is my father, before I call, He will answer my petitions and while I am yet speaking, He will hear in Jesus name. Amen
