TEXT: - ‘How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, who went about doing good; for God was with Him - 1 Joh. 5:14

*To understand the power of anointing we must first understand what the anointing is not and we must know what it is.

*WHAT THE ANOINTING IS NOT? 
It is not the baptism of the Holy Ghost. It is not the gifts of the Holy Spirit.It is not zeal.It is not the calling of God on a man. The calling is not the anointing. The calling of God separates the man from the crowd.  The anointing separates him unto God.  He then keeps himself separated thus.

*WHAT THEN IS THE ANOINTING? 
The anointing of God is three things:The anointing of God is first and foremost the miraculous presence of God with a man; the aroma of heaven’s power flowing out of a man. The anointing is the very presence and person of the Holy Spirit Himself - Exo 33:12-17. 

HE IS THE ANOINTING THAT ANOINTS 
Acts.10:38 says, ‘How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth’ - Lk 4:17 -19; Lk 5:17’; and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.”The anointing is the divine enablement of God granted to a man to do a specific job, which he otherwise would have been unable to handle were it not for the anointing ( Exo 31:1 – 5).  

*Bible gave records of people that were anointed to be kings, prophets or leader of God’s people, for the purpose of bringing His people closer and be obedient to Him. Ex. 29:7; 40:9; 2kgs 9:6; Jam. 5:14. 

*If we know how God anointed us we have confidence that the anointing will break the yoke (Isa.27:3) Jesus was sure about His anointing and announced it during his first sermon in his home town, Nazareth - Luk.4:18. He was anointed to work.

*The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me for He has anointed me to: Preach the Gospel to the poor. To open blind eyes. To heal the broken hearted. To set the captives free. *Beloved, every believer in Christ Jesus are anointed ones, for a purpose just like Jesus for furthering God’s kingdom on earth through the gift of the Holy Spirit which had been promised and given to all that believed God through Him - Joh. 14:16; 1 Joh 2:20; 2 Cor.1:21-22.

*Beloved Psalm 89:19-29 gave lists of the fruits that comes from God’s anointing and these includes help, freedom, victory, faithfulness, kindness, strength etc so, as the anointed of God through Christ, this year 2018 try to remain in Christ in other for you to enjoy the benefit of His anointing. 

RISE AND SHINE! THE LORD’S ANOINTING IS UPON YOU.

PRAYER POINT

Anoint me with fresh oil oh God; mould me and make me totally for your use. You  are the potter, I am the clay. Amen 

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

English Version: I serve unchanging God, He will do a new thing for me this year and I will sing a new song in Jesus name.
